Weather maps show when Brits can expect to feel a chill as summer comes to a grim end, with temperatures dipping as low as 3C in parts of the country. The UK has enjoyed an exceptionally hot summer in 2025, with multiple heatwaves sending temperatures soaring well above 30C on a number of occasions. However, we may have seen the last of the summer weather as we move into September. The latest weather maps show when and where temperatures will fall down to 3C.
WXCharts maps show most of the country experiencing temperatures below 10C on Tuesday, September 9. The coldest areas will be in Scotland, where temperatures reach as low as 3C. A weather map, which shows the temperatures across the country at around 6am on September 9, show Scotland turning a pale green as it experiences the lowest temperatures out of all areas of the country, along with Northern Ireland.
The rest of the country will be relatively cold on the day. However, the warmest temperatures will be in the south of the country, mainly in Sussex, Kent, Surrey, Greater London and Hampshire. There, temperatures will exceed 10C and even reach as 14C in the early hours of the morning.
As the day progresses, temperatures rise slightly, with most areas of Scotland reaching as warm as 10C and the south of the country enjoying temperatures as high as 18C.
On September 9, people in Wales can expect temperatures in the low teens, while Northern Ireland will be slightly colder with temperatures of around 12C to 13C in the middle of the day.
From September 4, the Met Office warns Brits to expect "changeable and unsettled weather conditions" across the country. "This will mean showers or longer spells of rain will affect much of the UK at times," the current forecast reads.
"Some heavy rain or showers are expected in places, most often in the west. Thunderstorms and hail are also possible, as are some spells of strong winds if any deep areas of low pressure form in the vicinity of the UK."
However, there will be moments of high pressure which will lead to more settled weather in parts of the country in the first half of September. The Met Office says: "Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly below overall, but may rise above at times in any drier, sunnier spells."
