Delhi Test: West Indies perish for 248; India enforce follow-on

West Indies were bowled out for 248, letting India enforce a follow-on on Day 3 of the 2nd Test at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium.


India claimed a massive first-innings lead in excess of 250 runs (270), with Kuldeep Yadav taking a historic five-wicket haul. Ravindra Jadeja blew away the top order, taking three wickets.


Earlier, centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill powered India to 518/5d (134.2 overs).

Kuldeep Yadav was the chief architect of India's bowling attack, returning impressive figures of 5/82.


Jadeja also played a key role at the start with figures of 3/46.


Meanwhile, pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj chipped in by taking one wicket each.


The Indian spinners dominated the proceedings as they bowled out West Indies for a paltry score. Notably, WI resumed from an overnight score of 140/4 on Day 3.

India had declared their first innings at a mammoth 518/5, with Jaiswal top-scoring with a brilliant 175.


Skipper Gill also contributed significantly with an unbeaten knock of 129 runs.


In reply, West Indies struggled against the Indian bowling attack and were bowled out for just 248 runs in their first innings.


Alick Athanaze (41) and Shai Hope (36) were the only notable contributors in an otherwise disappointing batting display from the visitors.
