A remarkable barn find 'virtually as new' 2015 Land Rover Defender 90 Pick-Up, showing just 124 miles on the clock and with a single owner, is set to go under the hammer. The pristine example, which has never seen rain, will be auctioned by H&H Classics at its Kelham Hall Sale in Newark, Nottinghamshire, on Wednesday, March 18.

Fittingly described as 'one for the collector' and featuring a deliberately 'back to basics' specification, while still bearing its factory-applied dealer allocation windscreen sticker, this highly sought-after 11-year-old Land Rover in the 'classic' shape that has since been discontinued after decades of production is valued at £50,000 to £60,000.

It is also amongst just 334 Land Rover Defender 90 Pick-Up TDs registered with the DVLA during 2015, merely one year before the final separate chassis Defender, a short wheelbase '90' version with a full-length canvas tilt, left the production line, further enhancing its collectability.

Damian Jones, director at H&H Classics, said: "We're thrilled to be auctioning such an amazing Land Rover that has been lovingly kept in a weather-tight barn. It's in almost untouched condition, despite being more than a decade old, meaning its lucky new owner has the tough decision of either completing the running in process or preserving its 'nigh on as new' condition."

Despite its exceptionally low mileage and sheltered storage, chassis number SALLDWRP7FA474446, which features non-metallic paint, cloth upholstery, steel wheels and manual transmission, has enjoyed a pampered existence, having been serviced twice and regularly MOT tested.

Damian said: "This special Land Rover, purchased out of nostalgia rather than necessity, was commissioned by the vendor as his own tribute to the Series 1 models he had grown up around and is only being offered for sale because he has a greater sentimental attachment to other Landies on his farm. This presents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a box-fresh, barn-stored Single Cab Pick-Up that is sure to attract much interest from collectors and admirers from all around the world."

The Defender represents just one of numerous lots being offered in the auction, with all vehicles available for viewing at Kelham Hall from midday on Tuesday, March 18, and from 9am on Wednesday, March 18, while the sale then kicks off at 12pm. Those wishing to bid on any of the lots can do so in person, online, by telephone or by leaving a commission bid, while for further details about any of the cars or to register to bid, visit www.handh.co.uk.
