Rachel Reeves will deliver her biggest Brexit betrayal yet today as she promises financiers a deeper relationship with Brussels.

The Remain-backing Chancellor will tell City high-flyers she wants "a deeper relationship with the EU" at the Mais lecture.

Sir Mel Stride, the Tory shadow chancellor, said it was "no secret" that Reeves and Starmer wanted to row back on Brexit adding "Labour are desperate to blame anyone but themselves for their economic failures."
