At 34, Prince Mateen is a passionate polo enthusiast who has represented Brunei in the 2017 and 2019 SEA Games. He was named one of Asia’s most eligible bachelors by Flavors magazine in 2016.

His wife, 31-year-old Yang Mulia Anisha Rosnah, is a successful entrepreneur in the cultural tourism sector and a graduate of the University of Bath in the U.K. She has strong connections to Brunei’s royal family: her grandfather Pehin Dato Isa served as a government advisor in the 1960s and 1970s, while her brother Danial Deen Isa-Kalebic is a close friend of Prince Mateen.

Her sister-in-law Janetira Attaskulchai Deen is linked to Thailand’s Attaskulchai family, known for founding the Betagen yogurt brand.

Their wedding, which took place in Bandar Seri Begawan, lasted 10 days and was a grand affair attended by around 5,000 guests, including international dignitaries.
