Similar to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, the Telangana government will request the Andhra Pradesh government to purchase boats for the Saraswati Pushkaralu in order to provide boat rides to the devotees attending throughout the 12-day festival.

At a recent Endowments Department meeting on Saraswati Pushkaralu preparations, the decision was made to purchase boats. According to sources, during the Pushkaralu season, the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation was requested by Endowments Minister Konda Surekha to prepare for boats, a helicopter, and a tent city next to the Western Ghat (VIP Ghat) in Kaleshwaram.

Tourists are drawn to the watercraft facilities, which were particularly popular during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, when pilgrims utilized them to get to the Triveni Sangam region. Additional boats were purchased by the local government from neighboring towns such as Kashi and others. During the Maha Kumbh Mela, a boatman made almost Rs 30 crore, which made him famous. The source said that the Ministers will be addressing the matter with the Maharashtra government on the availability of water for religious purposes. According to the official, a large number of visitors are anticipated from the neighboring regions of Maharashtra.

The Saraswati Pushkaralu is scheduled to begin on May 15 and conclude on May 26. Numerous events, including homams, Saraswati Aarti, and the installation of the Saraswati Mata statue, have been organized by the government.

Officials claim that, apart from the boats of local fishermen, there are now just two large boats available and that additional boats are needed to accommodate the massive demand. Between 50,000 and 100,000 pilgrims are anticipated by the authorities to attend Pushkaralu. In order to get more boats, the authorities of the tourist business said that they will speak with the AP tourism officials. According to the spokesman, they have previously notified the aviation authorities about the helipad since they anticipate VIP mobility during the Pushkaralu.

The official emphasized that the government was planning to install coir matting along the Godavari River, gravel roads, and roofing from the major roadways due to the heat in mid-May. According to the official, the Kerala Coir Corporation will be the source of the coir. To facilitate collaboration across departments, a task force would be established, with a representative from the Endowments Department serving as the nodal officer.
