At WrestleMania 41 John Cena was crowned the Undisputed WWE Champion after defeating Cody Rhodes in the main event, a feat that added his 17th title to his career. This accomplishment made Cena surpass the infamous Ric Flair, making him the wrestler with the most WWE Championship reigns in history.
Heel Turn and Alliance with The Rock
Cena’s victory came after a remarkable heel turn he did at the Elimination Chamber earlier this year.. Cena now also partners with “The Final Boss” The Rock, a shift that has infused a darker tone to his previously heroic self. Fans witnessed him employing contraversial strategies during the fight to defeat Rhodes at the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas.
Post Match Reactions: Cena’s Statement
The post-show press conference saw Cena adopting a more cold and dismissive attitude as he talked to the media who debriefed him regarding his controversially vintage victory and gaining yet another title under his belt. Firing back to their questions, he claimed that it was ‘click bait’.
“You want to know what wrestling truama means, turn into Monday Night raw and let me literally inflict madness on TV. Also don’t, forget you are talking to the, as for now, undisputed champion of WWE,”were the words that Cena used while clarifying why they are mistaken in thinking this.”
Other Significant Title Changes at WrestleMania 41
