A woman shared how she managed to transform her driveway and make it look like brand new tarmac - all thanks to one product.
As and many of us are spending more time outdoors, it is a good time to spruce up the outside of your home. A few plants, new lights or a lick of paint can transform a space. One woman took a risk by painting her driveway, but thankfully it paid off.
Jade Arrowsmith noticed her driveway needed some improvement. Over time, like many people's driveways, sunlight exposure as well as wear and tear can make the colour of tarmac fade.
The DIY fan, who posts using the handle meticulously painted her large driveway. It was worth the effort - as the results looked like she had new tarmac laid.
When tarmac driveways are freshly installed, they have a deep black colour thanks to the bitumen mixed with crushed rock or aggregate. However, Jade managed to recreate this with one paint product.
She started by filling in the edges with a small paint brush, before using a large paint roller across the space. She used a £23 product from B&Q and shared a video of the transformation on her
Jade bought the Sika Black Tarmac restorer, 5L Jerry Can, which can enhance your tarmac and protect against withering and stains.
The online product description reads: "A high performance, low odour surface coating specially formulated to make existing tarmac look like new. Once dry, it provides a deep black, tough, durable and low sheen finish which protects from weathering, oil and petrol spills and unsightly plant and weed growth".
Jade, who raked in over two million views on her video, wrote: "I only painted my drive. What do you think of the before and after? Using @bandq_uk sikagard tarmac restorer. Have a great weekend."
People rushed to comment on the amazing results. One said: "Looks like freshly laid tarmac, great job."
Another added: " Good for you girl.. looks so much better after. Made your house pop especially next to the drive, and yes I do this it's also apart of my job."
Meanwhile, a third remarked: "That's really good, looks like you've got new tarmac put down, done a good job."
And a fourth added: "I do my drive every year doing this. It stops the tarmac breaking up and looks great."
But one issued a warning, as they said: "I did it years ago but it all went patchy after a couple of months, the tar based product would be better."
