Infosys has recently fired its 240 new employees. All these employees could not pass the internal training assessment of the company.
This information has been revealed through an email sent on 18 April, which was seen by Bussiness.
Such a trimming has happened before
This is not the first time freshers have been removed on the basis of performance. In February 2025, the company showed more than 300 trainees out of the performance due to performance.
Who were these freshers?
All these freshers were from October 2024 batch.
He was selected for the posts of System Engineer (SE) and Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE).
After the selection, all of them became part of the 'Generic Foundation Training Program'.
On 17 April, he gave his third and last assessment.
Earlier, opportunities for trying twice and extra support, dout sessions and mock tests were also given.
But they were evacuated for not fulfilling the standards set all three times.
What does the company say?
Infosys wrote in email:
“You have not qualified in our training program despite three attempts and extra help. So you will no longer be a part of this apprenticeship.”
What will help withdrawed youth?
Infosys has not left these freshers completely alone:
1 month salary
Outplacement Services – Which will help them in other jobs
Free Training Programs – Through companies like NIIT and Upgrad
Different courses according to interest in IT or BPM sector
Travel allowance and living facility – to return home from Mysore Training Center
These types of facilities were also given to trainees removed in February.
Why are such sneaks happening?
This decision came at a time when Infosys is facing weak demand in big markets like America and Europe.
The company has estimated only 0-3% growth for FY25.
Still the company's hiring plan:
Having 20,000 new freshers hiring in FY26
15,000 freshers were given jobs in FY25
However, Infosys has not made any public statement in this entire case.
