Delhi ncert history book: The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has made extensive changes in the new textbooks of class 7. Under these changes, all the chapters to Mughal and Delhi Sultanate have been removed. While Mahakumbh Mela and government schemes such as 'Make in India' have been included. The step is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) and the National Curriculum structure (NCFSE) 2023 which emphasizes Indian culture, traditions and local references.

Chapters of Mughal and Delhi Sultanate were removed

In the new NCERT's new social science textbook 'Exploring Society: India and Beyond', all the material to Mughal and Delhi Sultanate has been completely removed. These subjects were reduced in 2022-23 during the first Kovid-19 epidemic, but now they have been completely excluded from the syllabus.

Instead, new chapters focused on ancient Indian dynasties like Magadha, Maurya, Sung and Satavahana have been added. NCERT officials said that this is the first part of the textbook and the second part will be released soon. However, it is not clear whether the removed parts will be added back to the future or not.

Mention of Mahakumbh

A chapter called 'Holy Geography' is included in the new textbook. Which describes the pilgrimage centers and religious visits of India. It mentions 12 Jyotirlinga, Char Dham Yatra and Shakti Peethas. In particular, the Mahakumbh Mela held in Prayagraj, especially this year, has also been placed in the textbook.

It has been told in the book that about 66 crore people attended this fair. However, the incident of stampede during this period in which 30 pilgrims died. There is no mention of this.

Government schemes got space

The new textbook also includes major schemes of the Government of India like 'Make in India', 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' and 'Atal Tunnel'. Apart from this, in a chapter, while discussing the Indian Constitution, it is said that in 2004 the Supreme Court included the right to hoist the national flag in the fundamental right of citizens. This change is being considered a step towards integrating the achievements of the government in school education.
