Virat Kohli seems to be on a mission to take Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their maiden title in the Indian Premier League 2025. In the previous seasons, he went on a rampage from the start, but he is playing a waiting game to allow his teammates to take the driving seat in the 18th edition of the tournament. The results have been magnificent for Virat and the team, as the batter is leading the runs tally while RCB is No.1 in the points table.
Kohli has amassed 443 runs, with Bengaluru winning seven out of ten matches so far. When RCB met DC in Delhi, there was speculation that Virat would give it back to KL Rahul for the latter’s aggressive celebration at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. When Delhi defeated the host franchise, Rahul hit the turf with his bat to make it clear that this place belonged to him, as he had played all his domestic cricket over here.
With RCB playing the reverse fixture in Delhi, a venue where Kohli played domestic cricket, former players were backing the 36-year-old to mock the Delhi wicket-keeper. However, he was dismissed after scoring a fifty and was not at the crease when RCB completed the chase of 163 runs in 18.3 overs with 6 wickets in hand.
Virat didn’t give up and met KL after the contest. He was seen drawing a circle before hugging the rival cricketer. He said something to the Karnataka-based player before the two started laughing, with Karun Nair also present.
RP Singh, who is one of the commentators in the ongoing edition, tried to decode Virat’s new circle celebration.
“I think Virat is saying ‘No one can beat me by drawing this circle. It happens in every ground as no matter where he goes, the venues belong to him. He has scored runs everywhere,” RP Singh said on the broadcasting channel.
Meanwhile, Krunal Pandya was named the Player of the Match for scoring an unbeaten 73 and taking 1 wicket.
