The news about NCIS: Origins Season 2 renewal broke out in February 2025. It was among the nine shows in CBS’s lineup, including Elsbeth and Tracker, to receive another outing. Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, released a statement to confirm the returning shows. She said, “This season, our new and returning series continue to showcase CBS as the leader in launching and programming the biggest hits with mass appeal for broadcast and streaming viewers.”
Addressing the partners and fan-favorite shows, she further added, “These returning shows represent a mix of long-standing hits and a new generation of fan favorites. At the time of writing, plot, casting details, and a release date weren’t disclosed by CBS. However, the series is expected to be a part of CBS’s 2025 lineup. This means its release will likely fall sometime in late September or October.
