Alerts were issued by intelligence agencies regarding possible terrorist attacks in the area, due to which 48 out of 87 tourist destinations have been temporarily closed. According to the information, after the attack in Pahalgam, some hidden terrorists (sleeper cells) have become active in the valley and they are making a strategy to attack further.
According to sources, the security forces have received the input that after the Pahalgam attack, the terrorists have planned to target some special people and big attacks through the TRF (The Resistance Front) organization. Due to this, special police teams and anti -fidayeen squads have been deployed at major tourist destinations like Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Dal Lake. Security is usually tightened in such areas after terrorist incidents.
