Amazon Kindle Paperwhite India launch comes after a long wait and the new version promises better performance and longer battery life.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite launch in India comes after a brief hiatus.

Amazon Kindles have been out of action in India for a while, but the company has finally introduced the new Kindle Paperwhite e-reader to give buyers more options. Rakuten launched the Kobo Libra e-readers in the country as well. Coming to the new Kindle, it has a faster processor which should improve the speed of page flipping and hopefully a longer battery life.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Price In India

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite price in India is Rs 16,999 and you get the single 16GB variant in Black colour in the country.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Features

The new Kindle features a 7-inch screen but Amazon claims it is lighter and thinner compared to the previous edition and still deliver a longer battery life.

The e-reader is powered by a dual-core processor now, which provides improved touch responsiveness for simpler navigation and a 25 percent increase in page-turn speed.

More importantly, Amazon says the new Kindle Paperwhite offers 12-week battery life on a single charge and comes with USB C for charging.

Other than the performance enhancements, it is the same as the original Kindle. This Paperwhite model has a high resolution of 300 pixels per inch on its display. In addition to being waterproof, the display features relatively small bezels and an oxide thin-film transistor to improve the clarity of the text and images.

The Kindle comes with 16GB onboard storage which should be enough to hold thousands of books. The Kindles use an e-ink display which makes it glare-free in contrast to those of smartphones, laptops, and tablets.

Amazon has a wide range of Kindle models, including the ones with a coloured display that is available in other regions. But for some reason, we are only getting a premium version of the Kindle Paperwhite and we are hopeful that the other models like the Kindle Colorsoft will be introduced in the coming months.
