May 2025: A number of recently released South films are preparing for their much awaited OTT debut in May. Here is a list of some of the most anticipated South OTT releases that will be available for viewing on Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, Zee5, Aha, and other streaming behemoths this month, including Robinhood, starring Nithiin and Sreeleela, and Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly, which became the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2025.

May 2025: South OTT Releases
Good, Bad, Ugly

The 2025 Tamil-language action comedy film Good Bad Ugly stars Ajith Kumar, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Sunil, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Prabhu, Prasanna, Tinnu Anand, and Raghu Ram. The movie tells the story of a former mobster who, when his son is falsely jailed, comes back to violence. It became 2025’s highest-grossing Tamil movie.

Netflix is anticipated to begin streaming The Good Bad and The Ugly on May 8, 2025.

The Bromance

On February 14, 2025, Bromance debuted in cinemas, receiving a favourable reception from both reviewers and viewers. Mahima Nambiar, Sangeeth Prathap, Arjun Ashokan, Mathew Thomas, Shyam Mohan, Kalabhavan Shajohn, and Bharath Bopanna are among the celebrities. Arun D. Jose is the writer and director, while Raveesh Nath and Thomas P. Sebastian co-wrote it.

The Thudarum

Tharun Moorthy, who co-wrote the script with K. R. Sunil, is the director of the 2025 Indian Malayalam-language criminal thriller Thudarun. In addition to Mohanlal and Shobana, the film has supporting performances by Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Thomas Mathew, and Krishna Prabha. The Robinhood

When Robinhood debuted in cinemas on March 28, 2025, it received bad reviews and was a box office failure. In addition to Vennela Kishore, Rajendra Prasad, Devdatta Nage, and Shine Tom Chacko, the film stars Nithiin and Sreeleela. Zee5 will begin streaming Robinhood on May 2, 2025.

Varunan

On March 14, 2025, the Tamil-language Indian film debuted in cinemas. Jaayavelmurugun wrote and directed it, while Vaan Productions co-produced it with Karthick Sreedaran’s Yakkai Films. The main actors in the film are Charan Raj, Radha Ravi, Gabriella Charlton, and Dushyanth Jayaprakash.

Varunan will be accessible on Aha starting on May 1, 2025.
