Amazon has officially launched the 12th-generation Kindle Paperwhite in India, expanding its lineup of e-readers for 2025. Originally unveiled in the United States in October 2024, the device is now available to Indian consumers after a six-month wait.
The 12th-gen Kindle Paperwhite is priced at ₹16,999 and is available in a Black colour option. To complement the device, Amazon is also offering protective covers in three colour variants — Black, Marine Green, and Tulip Pink — each priced at ₹1,999.
The latest Kindle Paperwhite features a 7-inch glare-free display with 300 ppi pixel density, making it the largest screen in the Paperwhite series to date. With slimmer bezels and an improved screen-to-body ratio, the device delivers a more immersive reading experience.
Adjustable brightness and warmth settings allow readers to customise the screen for day or night use.
Font size and boldness adjustments enhance accessibility and readability.
The Kindle Paperwhite also comes with an IPX8 water resistance rating, making it safe for reading by the pool or in the bathtub.
Powered by a dual-core processor, the 12th-gen Paperwhite offers 25% faster page turns and a more responsive touch interface compared to previous models. It also includes 16GB of internal storage, enough to store thousands of books.
Battery life is one of the device’s standout features — Amazon claims the Paperwhite can last up to 12 weeks on a single charge, depending on usage. A 9W USB power adapter charges the device in under 2.5 hours.
