Mumbai After winning the inaugural season of Indian Idol in 2004, singer Abhijeet Sawant rose to fame. He is now preparing to release his new Marathi song, “Chal Turu Turu,” which he says is his way of honouring Marathi culture.
“I’ve always wanted to add something of my own to the great legacy of Marathi music. Reimagined for the current generation while retaining its original essence, Chal Turu Turu is my little homage to that tradition, Abhijeet told IANS.
He said that he was immediately on board with the concept of replicating Chal Turu Turu when it was presented to him.
I grew up listening to this Marathi song, which is one of my all-time favourites. Prasad and Ganesh have performed well. We have preserved the essence of the original while adding a modern spin that is ideal for the audience of today,” he said.
Additionally, Abhijeet is commemorating 20 years in the music business. As he commemorates 20 years in the Indian music business, this record represents an important turning point.
“I won Indian Idol and started this amazing adventure in the music business 20 years ago this year. It has been an emotional rollercoaster filled with development and thankfulness.
However, being a Maharashtrian, I’ve always wanted to make a contribution to the Marathi music industry,” he said. Sar Sukhachi Shravani, a song that became a tremendous success and gave me new opportunities in the Marathi business, was my big break in Marathi music in 2013.
For the song, the vocalist claims to be both “excited and a little nervous.”
“Especially after the Marathi Bigg Boss audience showed me love.” This release is unique because it will demonstrate to me whether or not people are prepared to accept me as a Marathi singer. That’s quite significant,” he said.
“Chal Turu Turu” is a celebration of life, love, and happy times that is enhanced by Abhijeet’s distinctive charm and infectious rhythms.
What has Abhijeet’s life been like after “Bigg Boss Marathi”?
“I thought it would be a good opportunity to get back in touch with my Marathi fans when I was given Bigg Boss Marathi. I was able to uncover a side of myself that had been longing to get back into music in a more profound and grounded manner thanks to the experience. I’m thrilled to share this song with my fans who have supported me in reality TV and now in music as it signifies a fresh beginning,” he said.
What will happen to him next?
“I have a couple more fascinating music projects in the works, including independent and motion pictures. In order to continue developing while being loyal to my heritage, I’m also looking at working with contemporary musicians.
