Singapore On May 19, the digital travel agency Agoda will celebrate its 20th birthday, commemorating 20 years of enabling tourists to explore the globe at a lower cost. Agoda will launch one of its largest sales campaigns to commemorate the event, offering worldwide discounts of up to 60% from May 7–20 and up to 70% on May 21.
The historic occasion highlights Agoda’s efforts to revolutionise the travel industry by enabling millions of tourists to experience the globe at a lower cost. In addition to celebrating Agoda’s 20 years of leading travel innovations, the sale offers clients the opportunity to reserve ideal vacations at reduced costs.
Although it started off as a modest business in Phuket, Thailand in 2002, Michael Kenny and Rob Rosenstein formally formed Agoda in Singapore in 2005. Then, in 2007, Booking Holdings (later Priceline) purchased Agoda.
With its headquarters in Singapore, Agoda has grown over the years to become one of the fastest-growing online travel agencies globally and a top IT employer in Southeast Asia, with over 7,000 employees across 27 countries.
