Obnews Tech Desk: Today, wherever we look at-from the shop of the shop to the big companies-the use of the QR code has become common. Whether it is to make UPI payment or Whatsapp Web Login, just one scan is done everywhere. But have you ever wondered how this easy looking technology started?
The full form of QR code is Quick Response Code. The code was developed in 1994 by Japanese engineer Masahiro Hara. At that time he was working in Denso Wave, a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation. The QR code was designed in such a way that it could not only scan quickly, but could also keep a lot of information in the same code.
The idea of the QR code came to Mashevo Hara when he was playing the traditional Japanese board game 'Go'. The game consists of a 19 × 19 grid in which black and white stones are laid. Hara felt that if a similar grid pattern is adopted in technology, a lot of information can be contained in it.
Hara began working with the team of Denso Wave to make his idea realize and developed the technique of QR code. Initially it was used by Toyota to track automobile parts, but today this technology has dominated everywhere from mobile payment to delivery, social media and website links.

“When I created the QR code, I did not think that it would become such a big thing.” – Mashelo Hara
The biggest feature of the QR code is its uniqueness and fast. Each code is different and works in a scan. This is the reason why this technology has become a daily part of every smartphone user.
