Delhi Capitals faced Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 55th league match of IPL 2025 on Monday, May 5, in Hyderabad but had to settle for one point after rain played spoilsport during the second half. As a result of one point, DC remained fifth in the IPL 2025 points table with 13 points to credit after 11 matches.

Delhi Capitals are still alive in the playoffs race, and Axar Patel’s men will finish in the top four and qualify for the playoffs if they win their remaining three league matches.

Position Team Matches Wins Losses NR Points NRR
1. Royal Challengers Bengaluru 11 8 3 16 0.482
2. Punjab Kings 11 7 3 1 15 0.376
3. Mumbai Indians 11 7 4 14 1.274
4. Gujarat Titans 10 7 3 14 0.867

9. Rajasthan Royals 12 3 9 6 -0.718
10. Chennai Super Kings 11 2 9 4 -1.117

If DC lose one of their upcoming three matches, then they have to hope that not more than three teams finish with more than 17 points. In that case as well, DC will advance to the playoffs.

If DC lose two of their remaining three matches, then they have to hope that one out of GT, PBKS and MI lose all of their remaining league matches by big margins. In such a scenario, Delhi will have a chance to finish fourth in the league table with 15 points.

But if DC lose all of their next three matches, then they will finish the season with 13 points, and there is no chance that they will qualify for the playoffs, as already four teams – RCB, Punjab Kings, MI and GT – have secured 14 points.
