National-level boxer and Battleground participant Pushpender Rathi has taken a stand by exiting the high-intensity reality series due to his concerns over physical violence on the show. Rathi, who had earned praise for his talent and sportsmanship, chose integrity over visibility, sending a strong message about self-respect and personal boundaries in competitive entertainment.
Rathi, who had become a promising face on the Shikhar Dhawan-led reality show, revealed that he had reported incidents of physical altercations during the course of the show. However, his concerns were allegedly ignored by fellow participants and mentors. According to Rathi, mentors including Rubina Dilaik, Rajat Dalal, Abhishek Malhan, and Neeraj Goyat failed to take concrete action, leaving him feeling unsupported and unsafe.

“For me, self-respect is above anything. I won’t compromise on my values and principles, no matter what,” Rathi stated firmly.

“I hope my decision will make people realize the importance of prioritizing participant safety and well-being in such shows.”
Rathi’s exit has sparked conversations about ethics and safety in reality television formats.

Interestingly, this comes not long after another Battleground controversy — the dramatic exit of model-rapper Asim Riaz, a former Bigg Boss 13 contestant. Asim made headlines after a confrontation with judges Rubina Dilaik and Abhishek Malhan, later sharing a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter), saying he was not “kicked out” but had “taken control of the narrative.”
