Fans have been anxiously awaiting word on the official release date of season 2, which was completed some time ago. Many are predicting that Netflix might release it soon as anticipation continues to grow and some are afraid that it might be delayed. But the excitement doesn't end there season 3 has already sparked early discussion, with hints that pre-production, or perhaps even the initial stages of filming, could begin shortly. Series creator Eiichiro Oda expressed his excitement that "people around the world have been enjoying the show" in a special video released in September 2023. Two weeks after the premiere, he continued, he "got some great news" that Netflix had chosen to renew the series for a second season.

It was initially thought that the new episodes would be available on Netflix sometime in 2025, but that doesn't appear to be the case any more, according to GamesRadar. New episodes were mentioned as arriving "later this year" in a Netflix Tudum article that was released in February of last year to reveal new One Piece LEGO figures. However, the article has subsequently been modified to omit this information.

The show's return may be postponed until 2026 as a result, but we have not yet received formal confirmation from Netflix.

Joe Manganiello, who portrays Crocodile in the One Piece live-action series, has seemingly confirmed that filming for season 3 will begin this year. In an interview with CinemaBlend while promoting his upcoming film Nonnas, Manganiello mentioned that he would be "heading back later on this year... working on the next part of the story" when asked about the series.

Reacting to the clip, one wrote, “If they are filming so early, it can mean that in 2027, there will be season 3. “

Another added, “I really hope matt owens comes back for season 3 I don't think anyone else will be this faithful to the source material then him.”

A third wrote, “Season 3 will definitely be peak knowing it’s covering nothing else but the Alabasta arc.”
