Dubai, United Arab Emirates According to Olympics.com, Ancy Sojan and Shaili Singh placed second and third in the long jump competition on Sunday, while Karishma Sanil of India took home the javelin throw gold at the UAE Athletics Women’s Gala 2025 in Dubai.
Karishma Sanil, 24, won the three-woman competition at the Dubai Police Club Stadium on Mother’s Day with a 53.33-meter performance. The next two positions were taken by Aliazya Tarek of the UAE (31.04m) and Harshita Sehrawat of India (16.77m).
The personal best of Karishma Sanil is 55.55 meters. Annu Rani, the Asian Games winner, holds the national mark for India, which stands at 63.82 meters.
Indian athlete Ancy Sojan, who won a silver medal at the Asian Games, finished second in the women’s long jump with a season-best leap of 6.54 meters.
Shaili Singh, the silver medallist from India’s Asian Championships, finished third with a 6.48-meter jump. Esraa Owis, the Arab Games champion, won the competition with a distance of 6.66 meters.
Shaili’s personal best is 6.76 meters, while Ancy’s is 6.71 meters. Anju Bobby George has the 6.83-meter national record for women’s long jump in India.
At the same location on Friday, Ancy Sojan and Shaili Singh participated in the UAE Grand Prix 2025 athletics event. After that, Shaili Singh finished in second place with a time of 6.44 meters, while Ancy Sojan finished third with a time of 6.33 meters.
In other competitions on Sunday, South Africa’s Tamzin Thomas (24.15s) won the 200-meter race, while India’s Moumita Mondal (24.61s) finished second.
In the women’s triple jump, Niharika Vashisht of India placed third with a new personal best of 13.58 meters. Sawant Poorva’s 12.98-meter jump placed him fourth. The top two finishers were Andreea Talos of Romania (13.64m) and Zinzi Xulu (13.75m).
