How to apply for India e-Passport
If you want to apply for India e-Passport, then follow the steps given below carefully.
Step 1- First of all you have to register to make an e-passport. For this you have to go to the passportindia.gov.in website.
Step 2- As soon as you come here, you have to click on the option of new registration. For new registration, you will have to enter the required information like email ID, mobile number etc. After which you will be given login credentials.
Step 3- Login with the help of login credentials. After this you have to click on Fresh Passport or Re-issue Passport option.
Step 4- After this, after downloading the form, you will have to enter the required information. Along with this, you will also have to submit passport, identity card, date of birth, address proof etc. After filling the information, you have to scan and submit the form. Submit all these documents and forms as XML.
Step 5- After all this, you will also have to pay the required charge. Then finally after submitting the form, you will be given an Appointment date.
Step 6- On this date, you will have to go to the passport center and get the verification done. While going here, do not forget to take a copy of all the required documents and the charge or fee amount in cash. The passport will be delivered to your home within a few days of verification.
The eligibility for applying for e-passport will remain the same as for normal passport.
