Obnews Tech Desk: A major change has emerged in the world of technology. Veteran IT company IBM has replaced several parts of its Human Resource (HR) department with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The aim of the company is to increase efficiency by automating routine functions and use resources better.

AI agents are working for 200 hR personnel

IBM’s CEO Arvind Krishna said that “now about 200 HR employees of the company are being done by AI agents.” This shows that companies are now moving towards fast, accurate and affordable operation by adopting technology.

Jobs are not finished, but transfer

Although the number of jobs in the HR region has decreased, it does not mean that IBM is cutting employees.

On the contrary, the company is now recruiting more in creative and interactive fields such as software engineering, marketing and sales, where human thinking and imagination require.

‘Easy workflow with AI’

Arvind Krishna said in a conversation with The Wall Street Journal, “AI and Automation have made many of our workflows easier, which has made it possible to invest more in other departments.” He says that this change does not affect the total recruitment, but gives momentum to the company’s growth.

What work AI agents are doing?

IBM’s AI Tools are now doing everyday tasks such as Employment Verification, Staff Transfer, Data Processing, Internal Request handling and email sending emails themselves.

According to IBM’s Chief Human Resources Officer Nickel Lamorox, “AI will not take all jobs, rather it will only handle double and simple tasks, so that human resources will focus on decisions ** decisive responsibilities.”

AI tools for customers also

IBM is developing new AI tools not only for ourselves, but also for its customers. IBM’s Think 2025 conferences introduced tools that will help companies to create and run their own AI agents. These tools can easily integrate with platforms such as Microsoft, Amazon and Openai.
