The family of a teenager missing for more than a week have been sent horrific messages from .

Cole Cooper had attended a pub in the before heading to a pal's party at around 3am on May 4. The 19-year-old was last seen on doorbell footage arriving at his dad's home in Longcroft, Bonnybridge at 05.49am but left around three minutes later and was then seen jogging down the road, looking over his shoulder. The last video raised fears he was being followed and his mother later received messages from someone with information who “wanted to help”.

They later turned nasty, leaving his family “physically sick”, the reports. The anonymous message read: “1. That he's dead. 2. That his death was accidental. 3. That someone close to me was involved. 4. That I'll need to be paid to provide information on his whereabouts and the perpetrator's. 5. That I'm sorry I should have come forward sooner but I was conflicted.”

Cole’s aunt Aimee Tennie said: "To be honest police warned us about scammers. However, as a family we haven’t ruled out any possibilities, so when I received that message my heart dropped, I felt sick. Both me and Cole's mum broke down.

"Since then we’ve received a few of these messages and although we’ve been ignoring them. They are still gut wrenching. It’s disgusting some people want to benefit from others' misery."

Cole was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, grey and orange Yeezy trainers, and black Nike joggers. He has links to the Glasgow, Paisley and Cumbernauld areas and the family are asking anyone with information to get in touch.

Aimee added: "We are heartbroken and as the days go on we just want answers to where he could be. This is completely out of Cole’s character.

"He is one of the most caring, loving and generous boys. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and although he struggles with mental health himself, he is the first person to make sure you are okay.

"Our hearts are heavy, we are tired. We need Cole home."

have confirmed Cole is still registered as missing. A spokesman said: “We are currently investigating the disappearance of 19yr old Cole Cooper.

“Family and friends are worried about his welfare. If you have spoken to Cole or have any information about his current whereabouts then please get in touch via telephone 101 or contact us online, quoting incident number PS-20250509-0828.”
