An buyer was ready to sign on the dotted line as Nicki Chapman unveiled the astonishing asking price for the mystery house.
On Thursday's (May 13) episode of the popular BBC programme, 58 year old Nicki was tasked with assisting a buyer in his transition from Surrey to his dream home in Cornwall.
Clement, a semi-retired lecturer, is seeking a new beginning for himself and his grandson Luke, whom he has legally cared for over the past seven years.
He is a father to four adult daughters and has three grandchildren, including 12-year-old Luke, who resides with him, Cornwall Live reports.
Discussing his reasons for relocating, Clement stated: "I don't need all this excitement or whatever, of being closer to London any more.
"I want to have a country life and I want space in my life as well. The idea is to move to a place where there's lots of other activities. There's the sea, nice walks and I can go for lots of motorcycle rides around the countryside."
His youngest daughter Hannah is aiding him in his property hunt. Clement had a maximum budget of £675,000 for a four-bedroom detached house with a modern interior, a log burner, and an open-plan kitchen.
It was crucial that it had a sizeable garden, a garage, and was situated near a reputable school for Luke. Nicki pulled out all the stops and arranged several home viewings; however, one property stole the limelight and, even better, it was under budget.
The property in question was a charming 19th-century double-fronted house nestled in Lizard Cornwall, coming in at £25,000 below budget. Boasting an array of living spaces, five bedrooms, dual garages and an expansive garden, the house is perfectly situated with stunning coastal views and proximity to an exceptional school for Luke.
As they stood in the garden making their guesses, Nicki left everyone gobsmacked when she announced: "You are all out and you've all guestimated over the asking price. That asking price is £650,000."
Hannah was quick to express her eagerness, responding: "Where's the contract to sign? Let's go." Nicki chimed in with further enticing news: "The owners are delightful, and they are looking to move quickly. They are happy to have a conversation."
Clement couldn't hide his enthusiasm, remarking: "I like conversations, especially those ones. That's excellent."
Ultimately, Nicki disclosed that Clement revisited two of the three properties they had seen and decided to make an offer on the mystery house. Yet, in a twist, he ultimately chose a different Cornish property to call home.
