New Delhi: Bollywood fans are becoming more excited as the shooting of the highly anticipated action-thriller 'King' gets underway at Mumbai's Mehboob Studios. Along with being Suhana Khan's big-screen playing debut, the film also puts her and her famous father, Shah Rukh Khan, together for the first time. Thanks to last-minute schedule adjustments, 'Munjya' fame Abhay Verma has also joined the star-studded ensemble.

Reportedly, the producers are looking at Gandhi Jayanti 2026 as a potential release date, hoping to make a killing debut on the national holiday.

A source close to the production told Peeping Moon, “This date aligns perfectly for a grand Bollywood spectacle like King. Falling on a Friday and coinciding with a national holiday, this date positions the film for a strong box office opening. Following SRK's record-breaking 2023, there are high expectations that the actor will deliver yet another 500-crore blockbuster, and this holiday release will only accelerate its path to that milestone.”

'King' Cast

If reports are to be believed, 'King' will have an ensemble cast that includes Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Anil Kapoor, in addition to the confirmed leads—Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Abhay Verma. Despite the lack of confirmation from the production company, several news sources are claiming that these industry giants will play crucial roles.

According to reports, Abhay Verma will play Suhana's lover, while Rani Mukerji will play her mother, a part that would supposedly set the stage for the high-stakes drama of the film both emotionally and narratively. A report from Pinkvilla states that Deepika Padukone's role is more than just a cameo.
