Billionaire Charlie Munger has died at the age of 99. His death was announced by Berkshire Hathaway, the investment firm that he headed with his long-time friend Warren Buffett. No cause of death was disclosed.

Charlie Munger Family -

Charlie Munger was born in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1924. His grandfather, Thomas Charles Munger, was a US district court judge and state representative. He father, Alfred Case Munger, was also a lawyer. In 1945,
Charlie enrolled in California Institute of Technology to study meteorology. The same year, he married Nancy Huggins, who was his sister's roommate at Scripps College. They had three children - former corporate lawyer Wendy Munger, civil rights attorney Molly Munger, and Teddy Munger, who died from leukemia at the age of 9. The couple, however, separated in 1953. Nancy Huggins died of cancer at age 76 in 2002.
Charlie Munger married Nancy Barry in 1956 after meeting on a blind date at Farmer John's Chicken Dinners. They were both divorced at the time and had kids from previous marriages. They were together for 54 years until Nancy's passing in 2010.
The couple had four children - physicist and Republican activist Charles T. Munger Jr., lawyer Emilie Munger Ogden, Barry A. Munger and left-of-center activist Philip R. Munger. Charlie also had two stepchildren: William Harold Borthwick and David Borthwick.
Nancy Barry was a philanthropist. The Stanford alumni served as a board member for the YMCA in Los Angeles. She was also the president of Las Madrinas, philanthropic organization that provides financial aid to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Almost three decades after graduation, Nancy returned to Stanford University as a member of their Board of Trustees.
Following her death, Stanford University released a statement, thanking her for her service.
"Through her service and support to her alma mater, she touched the lives of many, and her warm and generous spirit will continue to be felt throughout the campus, from the light-filled Munger Rotunda that welcomes students to the Bing Wing of Green Library, to the recently completed Munger Graduate Residence. We are very fortunate to have known her," the statement said.
