NS&I has dished out more than 5.8 million prizes to Premium Bonds prize winners for this month.

The provider has released details of the big winners including the two winning Bonds which bagged an £1million jackpot, along with a full prize breakdown for the month.

There were just over 5.86 million prizes worth a total of £430,052,425. The prize fund rate is currently at 4%, having dropped twice in recent months, with the odds of each £1 Bond winning at 22,000 to one.

In the February draw, both the £1 million prizes were won by savers from Yorkshire. The first jackpot prize was won by a person from Kirklees, with winning Bond number 150EN423722. They purchased their winning Bond in January 2009 when they bought £5,000 worth of Bonds.

The other jackpot prize was won by a person from Sheffield, who holds winning Bond number 513EP525664. They purchased their winning Bond in September 2022, when they bought £10,000 in Bonds.

This was the breakdown of Premium Bonds prizes for the February draw:

  • £1,000,000 - two prizes
  • £100,000 - 82 prizes
  • £50,000 - 164 prizes
  • £25,000 - 328 prizes
  • £10,000 - 820 prizes
  • £5,000 - 1,641 prizes
  • £1,000 - 17,202 prizes
  • £500 - 51,606 prizes
  • £100 - 1,992,297 prizes
  • £50 - 1,992,297 prizes
  • £25 - 1,807,915 prizes

Total

£430,052,425 - 5,864,354 prizes.

The prize fund rate for Premium Bonds fell from 4.15% down to 4% from the January draw, having dropped from 4.4% to 415% in December.

The number of prizes and the value of the winnings can fluctuate between each month. For example, in the January draw the prize pot was smaller than in February, with a total of 5,851,240 prizes on offer, worth a total of £429,090,875.

NS&I has urged savers to check if they have any unclaimed prizes to collect, as there are more than 2.5 million prizes waiting to be picked up, with over £93million.

For example, looking at the jackpot-winning regions for this month, there are 9,684 prizes unclaimed in Kirklees, worth a total of £348,250, including 10 prizes for £1,000.

Customers in Sheffield have 6,668 prizes to collect, worth £248,450. The largest unclaimed prize in Sheffield is for £5,000 and dates to the October 2011 draw.

Andrew Westhead, NS&I retail director, passed on his congratulations for the jackpot winners. He said: "The Sheffield win marks the city's fourth Premium Bonds millionaire and is exactly two years since the last jackpot win there in February 2023.

"Yorkshire and the Humber may be on a jackpot winning streak, but thanks to ERNIE, more than £430million in prizes have gone to bond holders up and down the country this month."
