Brits have been rejoicing at the return of iconic Walkers Crisps flavour, Worcester Sauce, in recent weeks. And amid the fanfare, an American foodie has got in on the act too.

Kalani Smith, who is from Tennessee, has more than three million followers on , largely thanks to his food reviews as he travels the length and breadth of the UK. In his latest clip he decided to see what all the fuss was about with Walkers' , sharing his thoughts online.

"I finally tracked them down," he began in a video. "The Worcester sauce Walkers crisp." Sitting in his car, Kalani proceeded to open the purple packet, took a sniff and tucked in.

"Okay, there's little tang there," he said after munching a few crisps. It's a really good Worcester sauce flavour. These are amazing."

There was only one complaint he had – and it was aimed at Walkers. Confused, he continued: "I don't know why they ever got rid of these at all. I can see why there was an outrage when these were taken off the shelves."

After scoffing several more, he closed with his final judgement. He said: "I'm going to rate this crisp a 9.2 [out of 10]. That's really good. If you like Worcester sauce, you're going to love these."

One of Kalani's followers declared in response: "Best crisps invented." Another TikTok user recalled: "The smell of them brings back my childhood seeing my grandma's cupboard in the kitchen full of them. Just them, no other flavours." A third person joked: "You are officially British."

A fourth suggested: "If you like Lea and Perrins then you MUST come to Sheffield and try our Henderson's Relish. You must!" Whilst a fifth offered an alternative, urging: "Please try the Seabrook version, they are definitely superior but hard to find."

After they were discontinued in 2023, last month Walkers briefly brought it's Worcester Sauce flavour - but at one small store for one day only in the city of Worcester itself. After fans travelled the country in the hope of snapping up a packet - and expressed outrage over the short-lived return, Walkers quickly performed a U-turn.

"We're sorry for the distress caused," a spokesperson for Walkers said. "So, we've decided that your favourite Walkers Worcester Sauce flavour crisps will land on shelves at retailers all over the UK from Monday 17th March onwards. We're working hard to make them available for everyone to enjoy the beloved flavour - which is now even more Worcestershire-y with Lea & Perrins' iconic sauce."

The flavour is inspired by Worcestershire sauce, a fermented condiment first created by Lea & Perrins in the 19th century. Walkers created the crisps in the 1990s to mimic the sauce's tangy, umami-rich taste, which combines ingredients including vinegar, molasses, anchovies, tamarind, and spices.
