Delhi School Calendar 2025–26: The official school calendar for the academic year 2025–26 has been published by the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE). The circular states important dates for admissions, holidays, and school activities for all government and government-aided schools in Delhi.

Academic Year Starts from April 1

The new school session commenced on April 1, 2025, and the school year for students and employees of Delhi also started from this date.

Summer Vacation: May 11 to June 30

Schools in Delhi will remain closed during their summer holidays from May 11 to June 30, 2025. Teachers, however, have to report to school on June 28 to prepare for the reopening, as per the news agency PTI.

Other Holidays

- Autumn Break Date: September 29 to October 1

- Winter Vacation Date: January 1 to 15, 2026

Schedule for Admissions in Classes 6th to 9th

- Planned Admissions:

To be held from April 1 to June 30 for classes 6th to 9th.

- Non-Planned Admissions:

Will take place in three cycles, and registration will be completed in three stages that correspond to these cycles.

RTE Admissions

- Admissions for sixth to eighth grade will continue at the school level during the academic year in accordance with the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

Delhi Schools Take Extra Measures to Beat the Heat

As a measure against the increasing heat, both government and private schools in Delhi have done more than just tweaking their schedules. Most schools have now started providing students with traditional cooling drinks like aam panna, lemonade, buttermilk, and bael sherbet to keep them hydrated and cool during the hot summer days.
