Noel Gallagher's ex-wife Meg Mathews reportedly "walked out" of last night's debut Oasis reunion gig right before "her song" was played. Noel, who was married to Meg from 1997 until 2001, famously wrote Wonderwall for her in 1995 when they were still dating, and it was one of the most eagerly anticipated songs of the evening as Noel, 58, and brother Liam, 56, took to the stage for the first time in 16 years, but seemingly Meg missed it.
The 59-year-old had been a vocal supporter of the shows and had excitedly posted to her Instagram stories detailing the build up to the show and her arrival at the venue with friends. She also posted a clip of herself in the audience as the show opened in which the stage was visible in the background and captioned it: "5 stars loved every minute thank you Oasis ... you were brilliant @porthtowanbeachshop best gig buddy .... Great to see all the old faces ... it was worth the countdown."
However despite her glowing review she seemingly missed a significant part of the show.
"After posting about her ex-husband for weeks, Meg Mathews had a prime seat for watching the band. She was in great spirits before the set, watching Richard Ashcroft with pals," a source told The Mirror.
The culmination of the two hour set is a three song encore which includes Don't Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova.
Meg chose to "walk out" and leave the gig just before this according to the publication meaning she missed the number one smash hit which was written for her..
Express.co.uk has contacted representatives for Meg for comment.
Noel and Meg's 25-year-old daughter Anais was also in the audience andposted a picture of herself lost in the music with her eyes close and her hand in the ar. She simply captioned it: "It's good to be back."
Alongside family members a slew of celebrities descended upon Cardiff for the band's triumphant return to the stage after 16 years, which took place in the Principality Stadium.
Spotted among the throng were EastEnders' Danny Dyer, Line Of Duty's Vicky McClure, and TV presenter Vernon Kay, who was seen snapping photos outside the Principality Stadium.
The band strode onto the stage to the tune of "F****** in the Bushes", and kicked off with "Hello", greeted by thunderous applause from the capacity crowd.
