Focus on Quality Healthcare in Palampur

Palampur: Ashish Butail, the MLA of Palampur, emphasized that delivering top-notch healthcare services is a primary focus for the government. He mentioned that significant efforts are being made through the Patient Welfare Committee (RKS) at the Palampur Civil Hospital to assist patients from both Palampur and its neighboring regions.
Butail made these remarks during the annual governing body meeting of the RKS, which took place on Saturday at the Civil Hospital in Palampur. The meeting was presided over by Palampur SDM Netra Meti, with Butail attending as a special guest.
Expressing his appreciation for the staff at Palampur Civil Hospital, the MLA noted that it ranks among the top healthcare facilities in the state. He stressed that enhanced healthcare services are being provided not only to residents of Palampur but also to those in surrounding areas.
He announced that MRI services would soon be introduced at the hospital and instructed the management to take the necessary actions. Butail assured that funding for healthcare enhancements and other developmental projects in the Palampur Assembly constituency would not be an issue.
During the meeting, he also suggested formally thanking individuals and organizations that have played a role in improving the hospital's facilities. Butail encouraged RKS members, health department officials, and representatives from various departments present to collaborate in further enhancing the hospital's services.
He pointed out that the hospital already has a solid infrastructure and access to specialists in various fields, including general medicine, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, gynaecology, and general surgery. He also provided valuable suggestions during the meeting and committed his full support. The governing body unanimously approved a budget of Rs 1.61 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26.
SDM Netra Meti urged all RKS members and the public to actively share ideas and suggestions for improving patient care. She also proposed organizing CPR training camps in educational institutions.
The meeting saw attendance from Mayor Gopal Nag, Wool Federation Board member Trilok Chand, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Ashish Sharma, Medical Superintendent Dr. Tilak Bhagra, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Chakravarti, Councillor Dilbag Singh, Sanjeev Baghla, and nominated RKS members Surendra Sood, Gopal Sood, Ajay Sood, and Aditya Saluja.
