A company in the cloud and data centre business launching a series of enterprise-ready AI solutions is a rarity. But NxtGen Cloud Technologies, a leading Indian firm in the cloud space, has just done that. NxtGen has rolled out several AI solutions as an additional offering for clients already using its cloud infrastructure services.

According to A.S. Rajgopal, CEO and MD of NxtGen, the cloud provider’s mission is to make AI “truly enterprise-grade—sovereign, scalable, and usable.” “We’re proud to showcase not just the infrastructure but the intelligence that runs on it—built for India, in India,” he said.

THE WEEK was among the select invitees for a media walkthrough at NxtGen’s flagship Data Centre Campus, located in the Bidadi Industrial Area in Ramanagara, Karnataka. During the walkthrough, NxtGen unveiled several of its in-house AI solutions alongside its GPU-powered data centre.

An enterprise solution powered by Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)—a hybrid AI approach that combines a retrieval mechanism with a generative model to produce contextually relevant and accurate responses—was among the key offerings unveiled by NxtGen.

RAG models enhance large language models (LLMs) by fetching external data to ground responses, thereby reducing hallucinations and improving factual accuracy. NxtGen demonstrated how this technology can be applied to track the progress and workflow of projects within an organisation.

Other solutions showcased included an AI-based voice tool designed for customer and internal support.

During the walkthrough, the company also announced a major expansion of its data centre’s capacity with advanced liquid-cooled GPUs. It will soon add 1,536 NVIDIA H200 Tensor Core GPUs, 512 AMD Instinct MI325x GPUs, and 2,048 B300 GPUs. Currently, the NxtGen data centre operates with 512 H200s and 48 H100s.

NxtGen, which positions itself as India’s sovereign cloud leader, is one of three firms selected by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to procure and provide GPUs to fuel India’s ambitious AI mission.

The company recently announced a strategic partnership with Thales to bolster the security capabilities of India’s sovereign cloud infrastructure, bringing defence-grade security solutions to its platform.

The company’s AI stack is already being used by 40 enterprise clients. NxtGen also emerged as the lowest bidder for advanced, current-generation GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD in the INDIAai tender for 10,000 GPUs. It has developed a dedicated portal to streamline access to GPU-specific software, AI frameworks, and tools—making it easier for enterprises to build and deploy AI workloads.

Recently, NxtGen launched India’s first purpose-built Financial Services Cloud (FSC), designed specifically for the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. The FSC ensures 100% data residency in India, thereby eliminating exposure to foreign laws such as the U.S. CLOUD Act.

To support its rapid growth, NxtGen is also on a talent acquisition drive, aiming to hire 400 AI engineers—primarily fresh graduates.
