Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a brilliant innings of 143 runs in the fourth Youth ODI match against England Under-19 team. He made the record of scoring the fastest century in Youth ODI history by scoring a century in just 52 balls. After this record-breaking performance, Vaibhav said that his next goal is to score a double century in ODI. BCCI has shared a video on social media in which Vaibhav said that he takes inspiration from captain Gill.
He said that “The Punjab batsman continued to work hard even after scoring a century and a double century and took the team forward. He regrets getting out on 143 runs in the Under-19 match.” He said that he had enough time to play, but there was a shot in which he could not put full power, which ended his innings.
Vaibhav said about Gill, “I got a lot of inspiration from him because I saw his game. Even after scoring 100 and 200 runs, he continued to play and took the team forward. I had it in my mind that I could play more because I had a lot of time left. There were 20 overs left. There was one shot in which I could not give my 100%, due to which I got out. I will try to play for a long time like him.”
Vaibhav also told about his upcoming goal that his next aim is to score a double century. This 14-year-old batsman said, “I will try my best to play the entire 50 overs in the next match. The more runs I score, the more beneficial it will be for the team.” It is worth noting that the Indian Under-19 team has already won the series against England Under-19 and now only one match of the series is left.
Suryavanshi completed his century in just 52 balls in the fourth Youth ODI against England Under-19. Before getting dismissed by Ben Mays, he hit 14 fours and 10 sixes. In the match, England won the toss and opted to bowl first. Vaibhav finished his innings by scoring a total of 143 runs.
