Rishabh Pant makes a history in this innings. The name of the 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman now holds the record of the most sixes by any batsman in Test matches on foreign soil. He did this feat by hitting a six in the 32nd over of Josh Tung.
Pant has hit 24 sixes in the 11 Tests played so far in England for India. He is followed by Ben Stokes, who has hit 21 sixes in the eight Tests played so far in South Africa. Former West Indies captain and veteran batsman Vivian Richards is at number three in England with 16 sixes. Richards played 24 Tests in England for the West Indies during his tenure and hit 16 sixes.
Pant, who scored two centuries for India in the first Test played in Leeds’s headingley last month, has a total of 34 sixes in 14 Tests played against the English team so far. He tops the list of batsmen to hit the most sixes in Tests played between India and England.
Jaiswal broke Gavaskar’s record, the first Indian to score 2000 runs
Rishabh Pant has scored four Test centuries in England for India. They are on par with the match prior. Prior has played 44 Tests at home for England and scored four centuries. If Pant scored a century, he will become the first wicketkeeper batsman in the world to score five centuries in England.
