Fire breaks out at Delhi's Rajya Sabha MPs's apartments

A massive fire broke out at the Brahmaputra Apartments, a residential complex for Rajya Sabha Members of Parliament (MPs) on Bishambhar Das Marg in Delhi.

The fire department was alerted about the incident at 1:20pm, and six fire engines were immediately dispatched to the spot.

According to NDTV, eyewitnesses have alleged that the fire hydrant in the apartment was non-functional, with no water available in tanks or pipelines.

One of the residents, Vinod, who lives on the third floor of the apartment complex, spoke to news agency ANI about his family's ordeal.

"My wife and one of my children suffered burns. They are in the hospital," he was quoted as saying.

He added, "My daughter is about to be married in a few months, and jewellery, gold, and clothes are inside."
