A street in Nottingham has been cordoned off by police officers following a suspected hit-and-run incident. Motorists have been urged by the force to "avoid the area" and residents were told earlier on Thursday they could expect to see the area in the city centre to remain locked down for several hours.
Nottinghamshire Police issued a short statement just after 5am on Thursday, February 12, to say they are in attendance in Talbot Street between Wollaton Street and Clarendon Street. A cordon was put in place, NottinghamshireLive reports. In an update shared later this morning, police said "a number of people" - up to five - were left injured in a road traffic collision, with three taken to hospital. An investigation was ongoing, the force added, as police urged people with information to step forward.
