Tata Punch EV Facelift: Battery and Performance

Mechanically, the facelifted Punch EV is likely to retain the 25kWh and 35kWh battery packs currently available. Both variants will be offered with a front-mounted electric motor. The motor produces 82hp of power and 114Nm of torque with the 25kWh battery pack, while the 35kWh battery produces 122hp of power and 190Nm of torque. Currently the ARAI certified range is 265 km for the 25kWh variant and 365 km for the 35kWh variant.

After the recent range test, there is talk that the facelift model may offer the 45kWh battery pack from the Tata Nexon EV. If that happens, the range of the Punch EV is likely to increase further.

What changes in design?

The exterior design of the upcoming Punch EV facelift has undergone some significant changes. At the front, the bumper has been redesigned, removing the black trim and connecting air intakes from the previous model. The air dam and skid plate have also been improved. However, the familiar Y-shaped LED daytime running lights and the charging flap in the middle have been retained.

The side profile is mostly similar to the existing model. Some select variants are likely to offer a new alloy wheel design. The model spotted during testing was in Fearless Red dual-tone color with a black roof. Apart from this, the company also plans to introduce new color options like Brown and Bright Yellow.

At the rear, the facelifted Punch EV carries styling elements from the recently updated petrol Punch. It includes a full-width LED light bar and a newly designed bumper. This gives the EV and its petrol version a more consistent and attractive look.
