Former India captain MS Dhoni was spotted at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during India's ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal encounter against the England on Thursday.
Since Dhoni is rarely spotted watching games from the stands, his presence soon caught the attention of fans. The report further suggested that he had already been in the city early in the day to attend the wedding ceremony of Arjun Tendulkar, the son of the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
During India's innings, MS Dhoni and Sakshi Dhoni were seen on the big screen. The moment was witnessed just after India captain Suryakumar Yadav had smashed a six. The clip of Dhoni and Sakshi clapping from the stands was captured by fans in their mobile phones.
The clips of Dhoni and Sakshi were later posted online, and it went viral on social media platforms. A lot of fans expressed their joy and happiness after spotting their former captain attending such a significant encounter.

Dhoni Meets Rohit Sharma During IND vs ENG Clash
During the match, former India captain Rohit Sharma was spotted meeting MS Dhoni and Sakshi at the stands later on in the innings. The two even had a brief conversation while sharing a warm hug. The fans who were present in the stadium were in a delight after witnessing the warm reunion of two former skippers.
Incidentally, it was also witnessed that every time Dhoni's face appeared on the big screen India seemed to be losing a wicket shortly after. In the first instance, Suryakumar Yadav was stumped after 11. Then at a later stage in the game, Shivam Dube was run out after scoring 43.
However, it did not really affect India's score as they managed to put a humongous 253/7 on the scoreboard in their 20 overs. Sanju Samson had a brilliant outing as he ended up scoring 89 off 42 deliveries for India. Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, and Tilak Varma all chipped in with contributions.
With India posting a huge 253, England will need something special in their pursuit to book a spot in the summit clash of the tournament.
