Meghan Markle was torn apart after she branded the claims in Tom Bower's new book a "deranged conspiracy". Bower made a number of bombshell claims in his new book, Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family, including that Queen Camilla allegedly told a friend Prince Harry, 41, had been "brainwashed" by Meghan, 44, after their wedding in 2018.

While both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have accused the author of "deranged conspiracy and melodrama", TalkTV presenter Kevin O'Sullivan believes Camilla's silence speaks volumes, pointing out neither she nor a spokesperson for the Royal Family has publicly denied the claims. Speaking to former royal editor Charlie Rae, Kevin explained that Bower has published plenty of interesting information in the book and immediately mentioned Camilla's alleged remarks.

He added that Camilla was also believed to have said that members of the Royal Family felt that Meghan changed Harry's personality, claiming he went from someone who was fun-loving and adored by most to a "furrow-browed guy who seems to hate everybody and everything".

The presenter observed how the Sussexes immediately hit back at the claims, but highlighted the notable silence from the Royal Family.

He said: "We've had no denial from the Royal Family, no denial from Camilla. So when Camilla quite plausibly and I would suggest justifiably said that this American actress had brainwashed Prince Harry, I don't think it was a deranged conspiracy, I think it was right. Don't you?"

Charlie was quick to agree, acknowledging Kevin's "valid point" that there has been no private or public complaint from the Palace over Bower's claims.

Charlie continued: "If she said that to a friend, you can bet your bottom dollar that she and the king had been talking about this and other members of the Royal Family. This is a devastating allegation.

"He's quite well placed with people there who are clearly talking to him and telling him what's going on behind closed doors. We all know what's been going on and it all seems to have started when Meghan decided she was packing up her kit and realised she was never going to be Queen."

Charlie pointed out that Meghan was never realistically going to be Queen, joking that he stood a better chance of wearing the crown than she did.

He went on to suggest that Meghan incorrectly believed that she didn't have a place in the Royal Family, ultimately deciding she no longer wished to remain and took Harry with her.

"Harry was a fun guy at one time. He was probably one of the most popular members, if not the most popular member of the Royal Family at one time. All that is gone," Charlie added.
