Television audiences are "still in disbelief" following an "insane" documentary series.

Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God initially premiered on HBO Max in 2023 and chronicles a self-proclaimed spiritual saviour who established a cult and became known as Mother God.

Consisting of three gripping episodes, British audiences are only now discovering the documentary series, describing it as a "wild" viewing experience they have consumed in a single sitting.

The programme centres on Amy Carlson who abandoned her own family before founding the cult 'Love Has Won', convinced she was an ancient entity who had reincarnated countless times, reports the Mirror.

An official synopsis reads: "Love Has Won: A three-part docuseries chronicling the life and death of Amy Carlson, also known as Mother God, a self-proclaimed spiritual savior who built a cult."

The documentary series has subsequently been labelled an "insane" release with audiences being encouraged to watch it if they haven't already done so. Those yet to view the series can access it via HBO Max, including through supplementary subscriptions such as Prime Video and NOW.

On Rotten Tomatoes, one critic commented: "Could not stop watching this insane, sad and shocking train wreck. One of the best I've seen for shock value and overall wtf. Loved it."

Another remarked: "An amazing documentary, thoroughly addictive. I'd give it more stars were they available. I can't put into words how great this documentary is...

"It's truly unbelievable, kinda sad, pretty funny, but also really sad but also really kind of hilarious. But mostly sad and makes you feel uncomfortable but still a MUST WATCH."

Over on IMDb, one viewer confessed they "Almost had to turn it off", while another declared it was the "best cult documentary of all time." They went on to say: "This one is wild.

"What's interesting about this one is that the group filmed almost everything they did so you are along for the ride with the cult."

Recently, a TikTok reviewer posted a clip championing the series, describing it as "another cult documentary that lives rent free in my head".

They further remarked: "If you haven't watched this documentary what have you been doing?" One viewer responded: "All over this... today's binge!"

Another stated: "This was wild, one of the best I've watched." A third contributed: "This was insane", as a fourth concurred: "I'm still in disbelief."
