Anandapura: A 65-year-old man died after sustaining serious injuries in a hit-and-run accident involving an unidentified two-wheeler in Anandapura.

The deceased has been identified as Shekharappa, a resident of Tholikal.

Details of the incident:

The accident took place around 10–12 days ago near the Community Health Centre on the side of a national highway in Anandapura. Shekharappa was walking along the road when a speeding two-wheeler hit him from behind and fled the scene.

He suffered severe injuries and was first admitted to the Community Health Centre in Anandapura, where he received initial treatment. Due to his critical condition, he was later shifted to Shivamogga for advanced care. As his condition did not improve, he was moved to a hospital in Mangaluru, where he died during treatment.

A case has been registered at the Anandapura Police Station. Police have launched a search to identify the vehicle and the rider involved in the accident. Further investigation is underway.
