A UK architect firm has gone into administration. Scene Architects was founded by a team of three in 2011. It specialises itself in architecture, urban design and interior design, with its work "based on the creativity and individual skills". According to the Essex-based firm's website, it collaborates with clients, consultants, contractors, stakeholders and end users "to create distinct, sustainable, and high-quality buildings and environments that inspire and embrace future communities".
The company's team works offers "a full range of architectural, interior, and urban design services, from concept and masterplan to technical production drawings and handover". It works from two main offices, using "the latest BIM software, 2D drawing platforms and 3D modelling software to create drawings at all stages".
But the business appointed administrators on April 23, according to the London Gazette, the official public record. The notice was published on Tuesday, April 28.
The company, now called Scene Architects Limited, was previously named Scene Architect's Limited.
The joint administrators are Neil Bennett and Alex Cadwallader of Leonard Curtis in London.
Scene Architects, whose base is located in Chelmsford, lists 21 employees on its website, including its director and consultant architect, Peter Emptage RIBA.
The company says it uses "the latest digital and interactive tools", with its model studio providing "state-of-the-art 3D printing facilities, as well as a CNC machine, laser cutter, A0 plotter, and hand-made modelling space".
The firm adds: "These resources help our projects exceed expectations, offering experiential, tactile encounters that spark the public's imagination and encourages positive engagement during planning and consultation phases."
In a blog post, it wrote about a growing emphasis on decarbonisation schemes and retrofit and refurbishment projects, "driven by the cost of living and energy consumption".
The business added: "Most local authorities are recognising the need to decarbonise towards 2030 targets, setting evidence requirements within Supplementary Planning Documents and enforcing these through planning processes."
Biodiversity net gain was also mentioned, specifically "a requirement for a 10% biodiversity net gain across most projects nationally is becoming a standard practice".
The Express has contacted Scene Architects for comment.
