Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, during a public interaction in the Bathinda Urban Constituency, expressed appreciation to supporters and residents who participated in a recent outreach program despite challenging weather conditions. The event, described by the administration as part of a broader “thanksgiving” engagement effort, was aimed at strengthening direct communication between the government and the public.
Addressing the gathering, Mann referred to recent legislative developments related to sacrilege cases, stating that the government had taken steps to introduce stricter legal provisions to address such incidents. While emphasizing the importance of religious harmony, he noted that the intent behind these measures was to ensure accountability and prevent future occurrences that could disturb public order.
The Chief Minister also outlined a series of welfare-oriented initiatives being implemented across Punjab. These include a health coverage scheme that provides financial assistance for medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh, which the government positions as a step toward reducing out-of-pocket healthcare expenses for families. In addition, he highlighted ongoing efforts to modernize government schools, focusing on infrastructure upgrades and improved learning environments.
According to the state leadership, these initiatives are part of a broader development agenda aimed at improving access to essential services such as healthcare and education. The administration has consistently projected these reforms as measures intended to raise the overall quality of life and reduce disparities in service delivery across urban and rural regions.
Mann reiterated that governance efforts are being guided by principles of inclusivity and equitable development. He stated that policies are designed to benefit all sections of society without discrimination, aligning with broader state-level planning priorities.
The outreach event in Bathinda is part of a series of public engagement programs through which the state government seeks to maintain direct contact with citizens, gather feedback, and communicate policy directions.
