Suresh Raina pointed out that wherever Shreyas Iyer has played, he has managed to change the team’s approach and bring a positive style of cricket. He highlighted the captain’s ability to lead from the front and maintain strong communication with his players both on and off the field.

The former Chennai Super Kings batter also spoke about Shreyas Iyer’s body language and confidence on the field. He said that the Punjab skipper’s calm attitude and stylish presence reminded him of Azharuddin, under whom players used to feel highly confident and motivated.

Suresh Raina added that every captain has a different leadership style but Shreyas Iyer combines composure with aggressive decision-making. He noted that Punjab Kings play attacking cricket with both bat and ball, reflecting the captain’s fearless mindset.

Shreyas Iyer has already built an impressive captaincy record in the IPL. He has led Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings to IPL finals during his career. He also guided KKR to an IPL title and took Punjab Kings to the final last season, where they eventually lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Punjab Kings, who finished runners-up last year, are currently sitting at the top of the IPL points table with 13 points from nine matches. With the team looking strong in all the departments, they appear well placed to secure a top-two finish and make another serious push for the IPL trophy this season.
