Shivamogga: Eight people trapped inside a lift at Vishal Mega Mart were safely rescued by fire and emergency services personnel on Monday.

Customers had visited the shopping mall for regular shopping activities when the lift reportedly malfunctioned while they were coming down.

Fire and emergency services personnel arrived at the spot on time and rescued the trapped customers through the emergency door.

The rescue operation was carried out by RFO Raju, DFO Ashok Kumar, Muktham Hussain, Sunil, Satish, Santosh and Manoj.
