Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt’s wedding may have stayed away from grand celebrity celebrations, but one detail quietly caught everyone’s attention. Gauri’s wedding ring wasn’t a traditional diamond band. Instead, Aamir chose a rare natural ruby ring, custom-made by QWEEN. The ring took months to create and features a ruby so rare that the jeweller describes it as one in a million. One detail from the wedding, however, continues to grab attention: it’s Gauri Spratt’s ruby ring!
According to Amit Kumar, Co-founder and CEO of QWEEN, sourcing the ruby itself took more than three months.
The gemstone comes from Madagascar and is considered exceptionally rare. Once the stone was finalised, it took over 256 hours of craftsmanship and the work of 131 pairs of skilled hands to complete the ring.

Amit shared that the vision was never to create something that looked like an ordinary wedding band. The idea was to make a piece that felt timeless and could eventually become a family heirloom.

The ring doesn’t follow the usual wedding ring design.
Instead of placing the ruby on a plain band, the stone sits inside a crown-shaped gold setting. According to the jeweller, that was intentional. The idea was to make the ruby look like it’s being held the way a crown holds its centrepiece.

The gemstone itself features a cabochon cut, characterized by a smooth, rounded surface rather than sharp facets. That gives the ruby a softer glow rather than a glittery shine.
The band also features fine milgrain detailing, something that’s often seen in heirloom jewellery. Every little detail was added with the intention of making the ring feel like it could be passed down through generations.
Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt kept their wedding exactly the way they wanted it. There were no grand celebrations or lavish events: just close friends, family, and a ceremony at home.
But Gauri’s ruby ring naturally became one of the details people couldn’t stop noticing.
Considering the months it took to source the stone and the time spent crafting it, it’s easy to see why the ring has become a talking point after the wedding.
