New Delhi. Ramanuj Goswami, the husband of the accused murderer who recently killed his wife Riya Talukdar, chopped off her head and kept it in the fridge in Guwahati, has died. According to the police, Ramanuj was being taken to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital this morning for medical examination. On the way, near Narakasur hill, he attacked the constable and jumped from the moving vehicle. He suffered a severe head injury after jumping from a speeding vehicle. Policemen took him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police have kept the body of deceased Ramanuj Goswami in the mortuary for post-mortem. After Ramanujan's arrest, the court sent him on seven-day police remand. His remand period was completed on Sunday and that is why he was to be presented in the court today after medical. Earlier during police interrogation, accused Ramanuj had said that he had no remorse for killing his wife. He had even threatened that after being released from jail, he would kill another person whom he said was close to his wife Rhea.

Riya and Ramanuj got married about six months ago. After some time of marriage, Ramanuj became suspicious that Riya was having relations with someone else. There was a fight between them regarding this matter and one Ramanuj killed Riya. After this, he wrapped his head in black polythene, kept it in the fridge and ran away. Neighbors called the police after smell coming from the house. The police opened the door and went inside the flat and on September 6, the murder came to light. Riya's decapitated body was found inside the house. There was blood spread all over the house. His head was also recovered from the fridge.
